This October, we had the opportunity to participate in LangDev 2025, one of the key events in Europe focused on modeling languages and language engineering. Over two days, we shared space with researchers, developers, and companies who are redefining how software is built.

At Metadev, we supported this edition as sponsors and also took an active role with several presentations showcasing some of our more recent projects: Apricot, Daga, and LZA Editor.

LangDev is focused on tools for defining, editing, analyzing, transforming, and generating modeling languages. The 2025 edition, held at the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam, stood out for the quality of its presentations and for fostering a direct and collaborative environment.

Our participation included three talks, each showcasing a different approach within our technological vision:

Apricot: Collaborative Modeling for SysML2: Apricot is a web-based application that enables collaborative editing of SysML2 models, streamlining teamwork in engineering environments. Its design directly tackles the complexity of the standard from a practical perspective.

LZA-Editor: Accelerating Cloud Migrations with Compliance: a model-based, browser-executed solution designed to simplify and secure cloud migrations in compliance with the Spanish ENS (National Security Framework). Developed with management profiles in mind, it streamlines network design, security policies, and backup strategies, embedding best practices by default.

Building Visual Models with Daga: Daga is a flexible tool for creating modeling diagrams, allowing users to build and edit customizable graphical models using nodes and relationships. It has been applied to notations such as UML, BPMN 2.0, SysML 2.0, and domain-specific diagrams like CMDB or container deployment models. The talk showcased its capabilities including real-time collaboration and support for import/export and included a live demo.

We want to extend a special thanks to F1RE for taking the lead to organize this edition of LangDev and for creating a space where meaningful technical conversations were possible with people building real solutions. The networking sessions were also a great opportunity to start collaborations, exchange insights, and identify common interests.

We returned from LangDev full of ideas and with the energy that comes from validating our work with a demanding and specialized community. We will continue to support this kind of initiative, as we believe that sharing what we build is essential to technological progress.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our demos, asked questions, or simply came over to meet us. Let’s stay in touch.
